Legal clinic
Public enterprise “Vilnius University Legal Clinic” is a special institution established in 1998 by Vilnius University, Vilnius University Student Representation and law firm “Lideika, Petrauskas, Valiūnas and partners LAWIN”. It encourages close links between science and practice and provides legal education to the society. Free legal consulting in the Legal Clinic is provided by fourth or fifth year law students of Vilnius University Faculty of Law who are supervised by experienced lawyers.
The goals of the Legal Clinic are as follows:
to provide free legal advice in civil, labour, social care, administration and other cases (except for criminal cases) and consult on other legal issues, to assist students in acquiring theoretical information in practice, seeking to provide general legal education, to train socially responsible lawyers with high moral standards, to raise legal awareness of the public, to educate the public on legal issues by familiarising them with Lithuanian legal system and in this way help them in protecting their rights.
