Dear Guest!
Welcome to the website of Vilnius University Faculty of Law!
We are glad and grateful to all who use this virtual medium more and more often – to each student, lecturer and prospective colleague from all the remote spots of our country, from foreign lands and also to all those who are interested in law, its history and various achievements of contemporary science of law. We hope that many of our graduates have also maintained the spiritual relationship with their Alma Mater and they visit this website to find out what is going on in the Faculty today and what its current issues are. It is an honour and a privilege to lead Vilnius University Faculty of Law – the first and oldest Lithuanian institution of legal education. Here is the place where the historical experience retained and cherished for centuries and the young, energetic staff’s expertise and mature approach to work merge. I am certain that only united all – those working and studying here – can we ensure consistent prospective development of the Faculty and establish and maintain the position of this prestigious institution for lawyers and law science.
The management of the Faculty recognise the responsibility to educate an intelligent, sophisticated young citizen perfectly prepared for work, they respect their students and seek to create ideal conditions to acquire education of the highest quality. For this reason the issue of improving study programmes is our constant consideration. We seek to meet the expectations of school graduates who are going to choose law studies and we wish greatest benefit to our existing students. The greatest evaluation of our efforts is particularly high grades of knowledge assessment of both the entrants and current students of the Faculty. The brightest students of Lithuania choose to study law. What is more, they do not choose any institution, they choose our Faculty!
Together with our colleagues – distinguished scholars and practitioners of law – we rejoice and pride in producing a large number of highly professional graduate lawyers well-prepared for work. They are the ones who create the open society of Lithuania. As long as this continues in the same manner, the Faculty of Law will remain the most advanced educational institution where contemporary ideas and historical roots are combined.
