Selected Projects

  • Leading expert and participant to the project “Strengthening the capacity of State bodies and local level referral mechanisms to provide safety and support to victims of domestic violence in Azerbaijan”. The overall objective of the Project is enhancing legal protection and support for victims of domestic violence in approximation with the EU standards. Project Funding: European Commission financed Twinning project (Contract Number: ENI/2020/416-910), 2020-2022.
  • Postdoctoral researcher to the project “Individual constitutional complaints in Lithuania: the new constitutional institution as an effective instrument for the protection of human rights and freedoms”. The objectives of the project are (1) to carry out a systematic analysis into whether the Lithuanian model of constitutional complaints (established in 2019) ensures that this institution is an effective instrument for protecting human rights, as well as (2) to identify the problematic aspects of this model, to make proposals as to how the legal regulation consolidating this model could be improved and to put forward recommendations regarding other measures that can ensure the effectiveness of the institution of individual constitutional complaints. The project is funded by EU structural funds, 2020-2022.
  • National expert and participant to the project “Judicial Constraints on Legislatures in Europe 1990-2020 (JUDICON-EU)”. JUDICON-EU is an international comparative research project that aims to map the diversity and measure the strength of judicial decisions, as well as explain judicial behaviour vis-á-vis the legislative branch in Europe. This comparative research project will show the extent to which constitutional courts restrict the room for manoeuvre of the legislatures. In order for this research to reflect reality as accurately as possible, judicial decisions of European constitutional courts will be arranged in a ratio scale and evaluated according to their strength. Based on the dataset containing all relevant decisions of the European constitutional courts between 1990 and 2020, the project will be able to test quantitatively various models of judicial behaviour. The project is funded by the National University of Public Service (Hungary), 2020-2022.
  • Participant and research fellow to the project “The Duty of the State to Ensure Accessibility of Notary Services to the Society, Economic Independence and Impartiality of a Notary: the Possible Means and their Advantages and Disadvantages”. Together with co-author a scientific study prepared. Project commissioned by the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, 2019-2020.
  • Expert and participant to the project “Increasing the Organizational Capacity of the Women and Children Sections of the Gendarmerie General Command”, an EU Twinning project in Turkey. The purpose of the project is to increase the organizational capacity of the women and children sections of the Gendarmerie General Command by assisting to women and children who have experienced violence, as well decreasing violence in their immediate environment. Provided assistance for Turkish Gendarmerie in developing a communication strategy that will help to discourage tolerance for violence and promote a civil response to violence against children and women, as well as cooperation between the public and the Gendarmerie in addressing this issue. The project is funded by the European Commission, 2018-2020.
