Law studies at the Faculty
The Council of the Faculty of Law, aware of the specificity of lawyer training as well as the conjuncture of the country’s market of legal work, has decided to manage full-time university studies of law according to the model of integrated studies. This form of the studies enables to join the law studies of the first cycle (Bachelor) and the second cycle (Master) and implement them under one common programme. Therefore every student with decent academic results is offered an opportunity to obtain a qualifying degree of Master of Laws (LL.M) that enables them to seek the highest positions in the legal profession. If our prospective students do not have any higher university education, they can choose from one of the two forms of full-time law studies: full-time studies and part-time studies. In both cases the duration of the studies is five years and they are implemented according to the general study programme (state code – 60101S113).
Students who have at least one degree of higher university education are invited to obtain a Master’s degree in law by choosing part-time four-year studies. These studies are implemented according to a special study programme (state code – 60101S114) arranged on the basis of to the fact that the students do not need to study the disciplines of general university education for they have covered them during their prior studies at university.
The Faculty of Law also carries out supplementary studies for those who have acquired higher education in colleges and who can afterwards seek completion of university education and Master of Laws degree. Law study graduates who obtained their degree in foreign universities are invited to enrol in Master’s degree LL.M. study programmes (International and European Union Law) in English and (or) Russian language.
