The Socratic method is a pedagogical technique that is widely applied in the US law schools, making the US legal education exceptional. The method stimulates a cooperative argumentative dialogue between a professor and a student. During the lecture we will hear about the specificity of the method, tips for its application in classes, question types to be given to students. We will see a demonstration of the method applied in practice. We will also discuss possibilities to apply it in the Lithuanian legal education context.
The lecture will be given by Albert Coates Distinguished Professor of Public Law and Government Charles Szypszak (the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), assisted by Assist. Prof. Donatas Murauskas (Vilnius University Faculty of Law).
This event is organized by the United States Law Center at Vilnius University Law Faculty.
The event will be in English.
