Having gained international attention and recognition in Lithuania, the artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge twins created by lecturers at Vilnius University (VU) Law Faculty have become a global example in OpenAI’s The Global Faculty AI Project, where Senior Lecturer Dr LL.M. Paulius Jurčys shares his best teaching practices involving AI tools in a video posted on the website.
This project, developed by OpenAI, presents successful examples of AI applications in teaching and learning. In videos, lecturers from various academic fields share their experiences of how they apply AI in their teaching.
In this video, Sen. Lect. Dr LL.M. P. Jurčys presents an overview and conclusions from the Data Protection Law course, which he and PhD Goda Strikaitė-Latušinskaja innovatively redesigned in the spring of 2024. During the course, students had access to AI tools, including the AI twins of their lecturers (“Paulius AI” and “Goda AI”). He describes how the integration of AI led to changes and restructuring of the course structure, student assessment, and exam format. The lecturer also discusses student feedback on AI tools before, during, and after the course.
“The future of legal education is not about replacing professors with AI—it’s about augmenting human teaching and preparing students for a world where AI is part of everyday professional life,” says Sen. Lect. Dr LL.M. P. Jurčys.
