For four consecutive years, the Lithuanian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LT VCA) and Vilnius University have jointly delivered a structured and accessible course that introduces participants to the fundamentals of the Private Equity and Venture Capital market.
Originally developed for Vilnius University students with no prior exposure to PE or VC, the course has evolved into a trusted foundation for the broader ecosystem. Over time, it has attracted entrepreneurs, startup founders, business angels, service providers, and other ecosystem participants seeking a clear, practical understanding of how PE and VC markets operate and how investment decisions are made in practice.
To date, the course has welcomed 400+ participants, achieved a 93% satisfaction rate, and awarded over €8,000 in scholarships, reflecting both its impact and continued relevance.
Registration is open until March 13th.
Course details
Private Equity and Venture Capital are often discussed, but rarely explained clearly. This course focuses on building strong mental models of how the PE and VC world actually works — from fund structures and investment logic to decision-making processes and value creation.
Participants will learn:
•How PE and VC funds are structured and generate returns
•How investors source, evaluate, and select investments
•How risk is assessed and debated within investment committees
•What investors expect from founders and management teams
•Common misconceptions and mistakes made by first-time participants
All sessions are delivered by active market practitioners, ensuring a practical, realistic perspective grounded in real investment experience rather than academic theory.
Ticket price for the course – 350€ + VAT
