Registration for the Corporate Law And International Corporate Governance Tutorial Program has started

Modern business operations and entity management frequently extend beyond single jurisdictions. Even Lithuanian companies often belong to international groups or maintain subsidiaries in other countries.

How does managing such entities differ across borders? What are the challenges in corporate governance and routine operations, such as conducting board meetings or shareholder meetings internationally? What essential knowledge should lawyers possess when working with both Lithuanian and foreign enterprises? These questions will be addressed in a specialized tutorial program led by distinguished academics from Vilnius University’s Faculty of Law and industry experts from Mercator by CITCO.

The tutorial program offers a unique learning experience beyond traditional lectures. Working in small groups with legal professionals, students will explore contemporary legal topics, analyze complex cases, and develop critical thinking skills. It presents an exceptional opportunity for advanced students to gain practical insights into international corporate governance.

The program focuses on practical aspects of international corporate governance and company law, applicable to both single-company and group-entity management, as well as corporate legal services. While each jurisdiction has its distinct requirements, managing international business groups requires understanding:

  • Common legal requirements and corporate governance standards
  • Key jurisdictional differences in daily operations
  • Entity establishment and liquidation procedures
  • Annual business operations, including Board of Directors and Shareholders’ meetings

Participants will work alongside industry experts from Mercator by CITCO to analyze real-world scenarios through workshops, learning about company law variations and international corporate governance across different jurisdictions.

Program Details:

  • Schedule: Autumn semester, 2025
  • Language: English
  • Duration: 16 academic hours
  • Eligibility: Third-year or above students in integrated studies or master’s programs at Vilnius University
