At the meeting of the Council of the Vilnius University Faculty of Law held last Friday, key strategic and organizational matters relevant to the Faculty community were discussed. The meeting was attended by the Rector of Vilnius University, Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Gintaras Valušis, Vice-Rector for Organizational Development and Community Affairs Prof. Vilmantė Pakalniškienė, and Vice-Rector for Partnership Dr. Artūras Vasiliauskas.
During the meeting, the Rector presented the Vilnius University Strategy for 2026–2030, including its development process, main objectives, and ambitions.
The Council also congratulated Prof. Dr. Haroldas Šinkūnas, who completed his term as Dean of the Faculty of Law and has assumed his duties as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania.
During the same meeting, the appointments of the new Vice-Deans were approved. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Johanas Baltrimas was appointed Vice-Dean for Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deimilė Prapiestytė – Vice-Dean for Science, and Prof. Habil. Dr. Gintaras Švedas – Vice-Dean for Administration. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Indrė Isokaitė was approved as the Head of the Department of Public Law.
The Faculty of Law community congratulates the newly appointed leaders and wishes them success in their responsible roles, contributing to the implementation of the Faculty’s and the University’s strategic goals.
