Main scientific and research projects

  • 2014-2016 manager of the project “Conditions for the implementation of the individual’s right to the examination of a civil case within a reasonable time”. The scientific research is financed by the Lithuanian Science Council (agreement No. MIP-091/2014).
  • 2010-2012 project ,,Removing obstacles to access to (e)Justice through mediation in Europe: ensuring enforcement and a smooth cooperation with judicial and non-judicial authorities). The scientific project was carried out in accordance with the special program “Civil Justice” approved by the European Parliament and the Council for the period 2007-2013 as part of the general program of fundamental rights and justice. Research number JLS/2010/JCIV/10-1AG.
  • 2008-2010 project “The application of foreign law by judicial and non-judicial authorities in Europe”. The scientific project was carried out in accordance with the special program “Civil Justice” approved by the European Parliament and the Council for the period 2007-2013 as part of the general program of fundamental rights and justice. Research number JLS/CJ/2007-1/03.

  • Since 2022 chairman of the social and humanitarian sciences department of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
  • Since 2018 member of the Presidium of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
  • 2017-2019 member of the Vilnius University Council.
  • 2016-2019 chairman of the Lithuanian Society of Lawyers.
  • 2015-2017 member of the Vilnius University Senate.

  • 2004 Knight’s Cross of the Order “For Merit to Lithuania”.
  • 2021 First degree badge of distinction “For services to the judiciary”.
