Erasmus+ Traineeship Opportunities

Students of the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University may undertake internships in various international, academic, public sector, and non-governmental institutions around the world. Internship opportunities include international courts and organizations, law firms, research institutes, embassies, human rights organizations, and other legal institutions.

Possible internship destinations include the International Criminal Court, International Court of Justice, European Court of Human Rights, United Nations, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, World Intellectual Property Organization, and many other international and national institutions. Important! Erasmus+ internships cannot be carried out in EU institutions (including European agencies) or in organizations and their divisions administering EU programmes. Internship opportunities cover various fields of law, including public international law, human rights, European Union law, international criminal law, intellectual property law, diplomacy, public administration, and others.

An Erasmus+ internship may last from two months up to one year. The funded duration of a post-graduation internship (graduate traineeship) is up to six months. During each study cycle, a student may participate in the Erasmus+ programme for a maximum total of 12 months, including studies abroad, internships during studies, and graduate traineeships. In the case of integrated studies, participation may last up to 24 months.

Students are encouraged to independently monitor internship programmes announced by institutions, application deadlines, and selection requirements on the official websites of the respective organizations, and to coordinate the internship period and possible academic recognition with the Faculty in advance.
