Information on admission in PhD studies in law

 

Vilnius University Faculty of Law is the first Lithuanian institution of legal education. Here is the place where the academic experience retained and cherished for centuries and the young, energetic staff’s expertise and mature approach to work merge. Everyone who is interested in law, its history and various achievements of contemporary legal science is welcome to join the community of our Faculty. PhD students are a vital part of our research culture.

We kindly invite you to participate in the meeting with those who are planning to study a PhD. The meeting will take place on 17th May, at 10:30 am. Meeting will be held online, on Microsoft Teams platform. Link to the meeting will be sent to registered participants. Registration is here.

Admission to PhD studies

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Law or a higher education degree equivalent to it. Detailed information about the required application documents can be found here.

Entrance grade is composed of:

  • the grade point average of Master’s diploma supplement;
  • the assessment of previous research works;
  • the assessment of research project;
  • the assessment of entrance interview with the leading scholars of the Faculty.

Research project (10 pages) should describe the project that the applicant plans to undertake as her or his dissertation on proposed themes. The proposal should describe the project’s scope, aim and goals, its scholarly significance and research methodology, including any source materials on which the project will rely, it should introduce the stages of planned research.

Research project must be submitted until the 11th of June to the Faculty of Law by sending e-mail to: jurga.ragauskiene@tf.vu.lt

On the 30th of June, 2023 at 10.00 a.m. the applicants take the entrance interview with leading scholars of the Faculty and defend their research project (Saulėtekis av. 9, I building, Room 302, Vilnius or via Skype).
