International ECLAN PhD seminar was held at Vilnius University Faculty of Law

Vilnius University Faculty of Law, together with The European Criminal Law Academic Network (hereinafter, ECLAN), is proud to announce that the 10th ECLAN PhD Seminar on European Criminal Justice “EU criminal law influence on the national criminal justice systems“ was held in Vilnius on 6-7 October 2022. This was the second time in a row ECLAN seminar was organised in Lithuania with the joint effort of ECLAN and the members of the Criminal Department of the Faculty of Law.

ECLAN Seminar provides an invaluable opportunity for future researchers to share their research and receive feedback from recognised legal minds.

The Seminar panels were moderated by acknowledged criminal law professors and ECLAN committee members (Prof. Dr. Anne Weyembergh (L’Institut d’études européennes de l’Université libre de Bruxelles), Prof. dr. Katalin Ligeti (Université du Luxembourg), Prof. dr. Robert Kert (Universität Wien), Prof. Valsamis Mitsilegas (University of Liverpool), Prof. habil. dr. Gintaras Švedas (Vilniaus universitetas). Meanwhile, presentations were given by the PhD Students conducting their research in various criminal law and political fields from Poland, Portugal, Austria, Spain, Germany, France, Latvia, the United Kingdom, and doctor of social science from Belgium.

After the Seminar, members of the Criminal Department of the Faculty of Law held an excursion around Vilnius City Centre.
