Lecture “Law-making process in bicameral parliaments: a comparative perspective”

On Friday, Professor Basile Ridard, Professor of Public Law at the University of Poitiers, France, visited the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University and gave a lecture.

He talked about the legislative processes of different governments in different countries: the path that legislation has to follow before it can be approved, the institutions that have to review it, and the problems encountered during these processes. Using the legislative models of Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, he compared them and discussed their strengths and weaknesses.

The professor then encouraged the audience to discuss and compare these foreign legislative models with the model used by the Lithuanian Government (Seimas).
