Seminar on “Impact of European Court of Human Rights Decisions on Domestic Law” in Paris

On 10-11 March 2016, a delegation of VU Faculty of Law participated in the second International Law PhD Network seminar which was held at the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense (France). The seminar was intended to discuss the impact of European Court of Human Rights decisions on domestic law, and was attended by groups of three PhD candidates from each partner network faculty. VU Faculty of Law PhD student Evelina Agota Vitkutė discussed the problematics of administrative liability of legal persons; PhD student Vytenis Skorupskas talked about the impact of the European Court of Human Rights on competition law and the abilities to criminalize the activities related to this area, PhD student Viktor Terekhov discussed the ECHR impact on national civil proceedings. International Law PhD Network was established on 10 April 2014 by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding among the Faculties of Law of Vilnius University, Goethe University Frankfurt, University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense and the University of Lodz. More information.
