Professor of Practice Dr. Gintaras Goda was elected as Chair of the Faculty of Law Council

Today, the Faculty of Law Council (Council) held a meeting to discuss issues important to the faculty community. The main focus was on the election of a new Council Chairman – Professor of Practice Dr. Gintaras Goda was elected. The Deputy Chairman of the Council – Prof. Dr. (HP) Jevgenijus Machovenko was also approved.

The meeting also addressed the issue of the Head of the Department of Private Law – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vida Petrylaitė was approved for this position for a second term.

Later, the meeting moved on to other academic and organizational issues. The Council is considering the establishment of a new scientific thematic group “Development and Challenges of International Law” and approved the new composition of the Dispute Resolution Commission, to which Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andrej Gorbatkov (Chairman of the Commission), Senior Lecturer Dr. Stasys Drazdauskas and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vygantė Milašiūtė were appointed.

It was also approved to update the composition of the study program committees: in the committee of the integrated study program “Law” prof. dr. Vigita Vėbraitė was replaced by assoc. dr. Johanas Baltrimas, and the social partner Artūras Drigotas was replaced by Mindaugas Kukaitis. In the committee of the master’s study program “Criminal Justice” prof. dr. Vigita Vėbraitė was replaced by assoc. dr. Johanas Baltrimas, and the social partner instead of Tomas Krušna became Nida Grunskienė.

During the meeting, the faculty community congratulated the lecturer of the Faculty of Law, Professor of Practice dr. Liudvika Meškauskaitė, on the occasion of her anniversary.
