VU Faculty of Law PhD student at an international labor law conference in Salzburg

On 9–11 July 2026, Toma Bilienė, a doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, participated in the 15th Young Labour Law Scholars Conference (15. Tagung Junge Arbeitsrechtswissenschaft, TJAR), held at Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (Austria).

At this leading academic event for labour law scholars from the DACH region, Toma delivered a presentation in German entitled „Zwischen Dienstleistungsfreiheit und Arbeitnehmerrechten: Die Entlohnung entsandter Arbeitnehmer im EU-Arbeitsrecht“ (eng. “Between the Freedom to Provide Services and Workers’ Rights: The Remuneration of Posted Workers in EU Labour Law”).

The presentation examined the key challenges of regulating the remuneration of posted workers under European Union law and explored their significance in balancing the freedom to provide services with the protection of workers’ rights. Participation in the conference provided an opportunity to present the doctoral research conducted at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University to the international academic community.
