VU Faculty of Law students participated in mediation competition

Vilnius University team, consisting of second year law students Arnas Sabalys and Robertas Remeika, participated in one of the most prestigious mediation competition in the world. The competition, which took place between 5th-11th of February, was organised by ICC Paris for the 16th time this year and attracted 48 teams from 39 countries.

Students participated in four mediation sessions conducted and judged by some of the most well-known mediators in the world. Even though because of the pandemic the event was virtual this year, the participants are happy it did not prevent them from obtaining invaluable negotiation and mediation skills. “Preparation for this tournament helped to master the art of negotiation, taught how important effective negotiation plan, ability to choose the right words or understand the interests of the other party can be in reaching a satisfactory settlement. All this experience helped to build a solid foundation for the future career as well as obtain skills essential to every successful lawyer” – told Arnas and Robertas.

The team is thankful to Vilnius university Faculty of Law for the possibility to participate in the tournament and team’s coach Miglė Žukauskaitė-Tatorė for continuous guidance during preparation.
