Professors of the VU Law Faculty has been appointed as judges in the Constitutional Court

Today, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania appointed the scholars of the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University as judges of the Constitutional Court: the head of the Department of Private Law, professor dr. Tomas Davulis and Professor Aurelijus Gutauskas of the Department of Criminal Justice. Congratulations on a new position!

Prof. dr. T. Davulis 2012-2022 was the dean of the VU Law Faculty, his areas of research interests: European Union and international labor law, labor market, collective labor relations, equality of persons, social rights of human.

Prof. dr. A. Gutauskas started his career as a judge 2013 in the Supreme Court of Lithuania. Since 2017 he is the presiding judge of the Criminal Division of this court. A. Gutauskas is a member of the Ethics and Discipline Commission of Judges, and since 2017 – the chairman. As a legal scholar, he researches the field of criminal law: criminology and international criminal law, prevention of organized crime.
