Students of VU Law Faculty participated in judicial staging competition

 

On February 24-26, the third regional round of Helga Pedersen’s judicial staging took place in Tbilisi, Sakartvel. VU Law Fcaulty was represented by a team consisting of Dominykas Kiršis, Miglė Ordaitė, Greta Lebedeva (4th year students) and Ditė Elzbergaitė (2nd year student).

The team was accompanied to the competition by Dovydas Gudžiūnas, senior lawyer at Ellex law firm and health law lecturer at VU Law Faculty. Rimantė Tamulytė, a partner of the law firm Foxen, a lawyer, also helped to prepare for the competition, doc. dr. Indrė Isokaitė-Valužė advised on legal issues.

The Helga Pedersen Judicial Staging Competition is the largest human rights competition of its kind, organized for the 11th time by the European Law Students Association – ELSA. During the competition, was silmulated the procedure of the European Court of Human Rights. The team that analyzed the submitted fable had to prepare written documents for the plaintiff and the defendant. In the regional round, the team represented its positions in oral defenses. The competition is judged by human rights experts, ECHR judges and lawyers who represent their countries in this court.
