Conference “Election Code – innovations, challenges, perspectives”

On 23rd of September 2022 the conference “Election Code – innovations, challenges, perspectives” was held in the Seimas. It was organized by the Law and Order Committee of the Seimas together with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University and the Society of Lithuanian Lawyers.

On 23rd of June 2022 the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted the Election Code, which not only systematically regulated all elections taking place in Lithuania in one act, but also included certain innovations. They were discussed and debatable questions were raised together with other speakers by the researchers of the Faculty of Law of VU Prof. Habil. Dr. Vytautas Nekrošius, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haroldas Šinkūnas, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Remigijus Merkevičius and Dr. Elena Masnevaitė.
