Every year the VU Student Representation at the Faculty of Law (VUSA TF) commemorates Constitution Day by organizing Constitution Days (Kodi). On 26th of October 2021 a remote discussion “What influence does a young person have on the Constitution?” was held, in which the judges of the Constitutional Court and the researchers of VU Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Daiva Petrylaitė and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Giedrė Lastauskienė participated.

On 27th of  October 2021 the debates of Vilnius school students and Vilnius University students took place in the Constitutional Court. This annual project aims to draw public attention to the importance of the Constitution. Two school and student teams each participated in the debate. Their participants tried to answer the questions whether we understand the constitutional principles correctly or whether we know how to apply them in our lives.

The participants of the event were greeted by the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court Danutė Jočienė and Judge Vytautas Mizaras. D. Jočienė emphasized that she is particularly pleased to welcome the students on the occasion of this honorable and important student event in the meeting hall of the Constitutional Court, where the most important decisions for the whole of Lithuania and its people are made by the Constitutional Court in carrying out the function assigned to it by the Constitution to officially interpret the Constitution, to exercise constitutional justice and to ensure the rule of law.

Finally, Kodi’21 was crowned by a traditional student battle of wits.
