Discussion “Human rights protection in practice”

On 22nd of April 2021 there was a discussion about the development of human rights with one of the most famous human rights activists in Lithuania – Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, chairman of the Seimas Human Rights Committee.

During the event, complex issues of human rights protection were discussed: who are human rights defenders? What practical advice can be given to individuals who want to be human rights defenders? How does the role of the human rights defender change in different institutional contexts? What is “strategic litigation?” etc.

The event was held in English. Moderator – Dr. Donatas Murauskas. The discussion is part of the course “Protection of Human Rights in Practice” of the international master’s program “International and European Union Law”.
