KoDi’20 conference

On October 21st, 2020, Two topics were discussed during the Constitution Day’20 (KoDi’20) conference:

  • “Legal recognition of same-sex families: prohibition cannot be allowed”
  • “How much city is there in the Constitution?”

The European Union and other countries of the world with a Western legal tradition increasingly legally recognize same-sex family relationships. However, Lithuania is currently one of the few EU member states that has not given legal recognition to same-sex family relationships. Lithuanian law does not provide for the possibility for same-sex persons to enter into marriage or partnership. During this conference, speaker Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius discussed the legal recognition of same-sex families.
